Carter Frazee
Stewardship Field Technician
I AM…
…enthusiastic, imaginative, hard-working, and thoughtful. A learner, listener, and casual runner.
I BELIEVE…
…that even though the state of humanity’s relationship to the natural world feels discouraging, it is still possible to identify tangible, specific ways in which we can reinterpret that relationship and take meaningful steps towards a more just, ecologically rich world. What is required from us as humans is hard work, collaboration, and the humility to be surprised by other forms of life.
BIO
Carter joined PDC as a Restoration Field Technician in 2024. As an (almost) lifelong resident of Charlottesville, their work with PDC is driven by a personal connection to the landscapes of Virginia’s Piedmont and a willingness to engage with people and ideas. Carter received their B.A. in English and Natural Resources from Sewanee: the University of the South. Previously, they have tutored college students in writing and English change bell ringing and worked as a lifeguard. Though their interests span the sciences and humanities, a summer internship researching tree hydraulics at Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory inspired them to continue with ecology-related work after graduation.
